WiseEarth : Art & Land in Texas
February 10-March 3, 2012
Earthwise Gallery
728 N. Elm Street
Denton, TX 76201
I am fortunate to have been chosen to show five of my encaustic on wood panel paintings at this 1st annual exhibit in Denton, TX.
The works chosen by curator, Katy Crocker are my Johnson Creek, Summer series. …1-5.
This work was inspired by the summer here on the ranch. It was HOT to say the least…many days of 105 degrees, drying up pastures…even almost dried up Johnson Creek that runs into our small lake. My studio looks out over the creek line. It is always inspirational to me.
These pieces are all encaustic paint on cradled wood panels………10 x 10 x 2 inches.
I hope any of you who happen to live near Denton, will take the time to go by and see the show AND look around at Earthwise Gardens. The festival should also be a lot of fun. http://wiseearthart.tumblr.com/artists
Hi Cheryl,
The paintings are beautiful. I will be out of town on the 10th but will go and see the show after I get back. Congratulations. Winston
Hi Winston…. I was just wondering if you were traveling the other day when I was in Dallas…… Good to hear from you.
I have been in and out of town during the month of January. Except for the week for the 19-25thi is month I will pretty much be here for quite a while. Hope to see you soon.
Winston
maybe Fab 4 can get together in March…..
I love them and encaustic is the perfect medium for these paintings. I have been painting up a storm this fall and winter. It’s kind of addictive isn’t it?
thanks, Pat. I enjoyed working on them. I haven’t been painting quite as much but I prepped a big canvas today in anticipation of starting on it tomorrow. BIG BIG… anyway, bigger, 50 x 40 inches.
